“ Solid restaurant. Food, atmosphere, staff. Highly recommend. Very comforting n friendly. ”
“ The downtown location is just different from the rest. Hands down, the best roti in the city; Great doubles as well. Authentic Trinidadian chefs handling the meals here. I live in the east end and if I can make it downtown before 8pm, this is the place to be. ”
“ Honestly the spinach and bone in curry chicken roti is just right. Specify how much hot sauce you need. The curry is a gorgeous blend of spices, and the sauce is not oily. Otherwise the taste is flavourful, and the roti texture is solid yet fluffy. It's a nice place to dine in, during a grocery shop or on a frustrating banking day. I ordered a cream soda. ”
“ Service was quick and friendly. Multiple allergies and food sensitivities in our party weren't a problem. Goat curry was very tender and incredibly flavourful. Very clean dining area. ”
“ Best Doubles in Toronto, made fresh to order! Everything is fresh, quality ingredients, delicious and service is 5 Star! Love their curry goat and the curry chicken is tender as can be. If you are in the area, give them a try you won't be disappointed. Lot's of options for everyone! ”
“ I have been eating boneless chicken roti from Island Foods for 20 years. Nobody does it better! delicious as always, worth any distance travelled or wait. I came on a Friday at 2 pm and it was pretty much empty. I always have boneless chicken roti, medium spice which is not hot and extra gravy inside. The owners are the same lovely people from The Grange and King street. Love their doubles too! ”
“ Probably one fo the best chicken rotis in Toronto. The curry is very flavourful. Would bring cash and debit to avoid credit charge. ”
“ Moving eastward on Queen West, the summer day was declining, and I needed a drink. Island Foods was there offering "A taste of life under the sun." The famous Jamaican soda "Ting" caught my eye: sweet and tart, petillante et plaisante. ("If it ain't Ting, it ain't the real thing.") There were a lot of people in the restaurant, and the service was quick and efficient. With a grapefruit Ting soda in hand (the green one), I moved on to complete the next leg of my journey. Looking forward to coming back and trying the boneless goat roti. P.S. Making the trek back to Queen West on a cool autumn evening, my dear friend and I both enjoyed the boneless goat roti. The goat was tender, great cuts of meat, and the roti flatbread was tasty with a pleasing stretchy consistency. Really, really good. ”
